Avarts to promote practical education

Avarts Housing, a real estate management company, is partnering with Rwenzori East Neighbors Association (Rena) foundation to promote practical education in the country, particularly focusing on empowering youth in Kamwenge District with skills demanded in the job market.
The firm, through a scholarship initiative, will support the best Senior Six students from St Theresa Vocational Secondary School to attain sponsorship for real estate management courses in different tertiary institutions.
According to Mr Vincent Agaba, the director marketing and operations at Avarts, the move also seeks to strengthen Uganda’s practical human resource for the growing real estate industry.
“Vocation skills serve an integral part in development, Rena has set a precedent by sowing the seeds of practical education through teaching vocational skills,” he said.
Rena was founded in 2000 with particular interest in the eradication of poverty, especially in the fishing communities surrounding Lake George.
