About Us

Avarts Housing Limited was founded in 2006 on the notion of serving its customers with excellence. We recognized a gap in the real estate industry that was causing individuals searching for property to be treated informally and without professionalism. We also realized that many people would like to invest in real estate, but do not have sufficient knowledge, expertise or time for real estate management. Hence at Avarts Housing Limited, we decided to fill this gap and render the appropriate services in the real estate field.

Vincent Agaba

Vincent Agaba

Vincent Agaba is one of the Directors and CEO of Avarts Housing Ltd. He is also the Co-Founder, Past-President and current CEO of the Association of Real Estate Agents of Uganda (AREA-Uganda - www.areauganda.org). Additionally he is the founding member and Secretary of the Mortgage Association of Uganda (MAU). He serves as Member of the Audit Committee of the Board of Private Sector Foundation of Uganda (PSFU), as well as Vice-Chairman on the Board of Rena Foundation Uganda (www.renauganda.org), an NGO providing secondary vocational education, health services and promoting tourism around Lake George. He serves as a board member for the East African Regional Real Estate Training Center (EARRTC) based in Nairobi, Kenya and he is a member of the National Association of Realtors - USA (www.realtor.org).

Mr. Agaba holds a Degree in Business Administration and Management attained at Uganda Martyrs University and another Degree in International Business and Management from the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. He possesses a professional Certificate in Real Estate Brokerage and Management offered by the International Real Property Foundation in cooperation with World Bank-IFC and AREA-Uganda. He has two Trainer of Trainers Certificates and a Housing Finance professional Certificate offered by Frankfurt School Germany in cooperation with World Bank-IFC and Mortgage Association of Uganda (MAU).

Ellen Steen Agaba

Ellen Steen Agaba

Ellen Steen Agaba is Co-Director and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Avarts Housing Ltd. She previously worked as Director of BAGRO Investments (U) Ltd, an agricultural trading company and as Assistant Project Coordinator at the International Law Institute – African Centre for Legal Excellence in Kampala. Before that, she was the Coordinator of a Ugandan-Dutch NGO network, where she obtained great organizational and administration skills. She also worked as Advisor at BBO in The Netherlands, a consultancy firm on lobby and advocacy in International Development. Mrs. Agaba holds a Masters Degree in Development Studies from the Catholic University of Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

Edith Promise Ndyowe

Edith Promise Ndyowe is the Finance and Administration Manager, a graduate from Kyambogo University who holds a bachelor’s degree in Land Economics. Edith interned with Allied Property Surveyors and Knight Frank Uganda Ltd, before joining Avarts Housing Ltd. She has worked with Avarts Housing Ltd for the past 3 years. She has also taken courses in property management and in strategic planning from IREM. She is the Chairperson Corporate Social Responsibility programme.

Maimuna Namugerwa

Maimuna Namugerwa is the Finance and Administration Officer. She has just completed her studies at Makerere University Business School where she was pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. She is a beneficiary of the Avarts Real Estate Scholarship under the Corporate Social Responsibility Programme. She has been interning with Avarts Housing Ltd since 2016.

Jovan Kanyike

Jovan Kanyike is an Operations Officer at Avarts Housing Ltd. He is also in charge of coordinating maintenance and repair issues at properties we manage. Jovan is a graduate from Makerere University business School and holds a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Business Management. He has previously worked with Stema Associates as the fields’ officer. He also interned with Semu Property Associates and Agencies Ltd.

Patrick Katongole

Patrick Katongole is the Marketing Officer. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate Business Management from Makerere University Business School. He has previously worked with Bata Shoe Company in the Sales department.

Sylvia Kahunde

Sylvia Kahunde is the Estates Officer for Mariba building in Kololo. She is soon to finalise a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate Business Management from Makerere University Business School.

Timothy Mpata

Timothy Mpata is the Property Management Officer at Avarts Housing’s branch in Jinja. He previously worked with Re/max Avalon as a marketing agent. Timothy holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate Business Management from Makerere University Business School.

Guma Ramadan

Guma Ramadan is the Property Management Officer, Fort portal branch. He studied building construction from Uganda Technical College Kichwamba. He has previously worked at an upscale tourist guesthouse (Rwenzori View Guest House) in Fort Portal in charge of maintenance & assisting in management. He also worked as a real estate agent. Ramadan is part of the management team at Avarts Housing Ltd.

Agasha Edwin

Agasha Edwin is the Property Management Assistant for Fort Portal Branch. Edwin holds a Diploma in Accountancy from Makerere University and a Certificate in Computer from St Joseph Technical Institute, Fort Portal. She has previously worked as a cashier at Jerusalem Paradise Hotel and as a Lecturer at Kabarole College of Commerce.
